Andrea Petkovic Out of French Open and Wimbledon

German media are reporting that Andrea Petkovic is out of action for 3 months. Top German player twisted her ankle while playing the second round in her home tournament, Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, against Victoria Azarenka. Out of action for 3 means, Petkovic will not be participating in French Open and Wimbledon. This also puts a question about her participation in Olympics which starts at 27th July, 2012. According to the journalist, Angelica Fratini, "Petkovic ruptured 2 ligaments in her right ankle. the 3rd ligament has also been overstretched. The decision about a possible operation will be taken by Petkovic after further examinations". She missed Australian Open early this year due to back injury. 2012 is turning out to be a disaster for the German who had been doing very well in 2011 to achieve her career highest ranking of No.9 in October.
